It’s Human Nature

I think it’s human nature to always be questioning, searching, and trying to find purpose and the meaning of life. Is our life already destined by a divine hand or are we just creatures living out our days in monotony? For myself, my answer continues to evolve.

Currently, I believe it’s a combination of the two. We make choices based on our experiences and past knowledge. These lead us to the life choices we believe will benefit us in the future. But I have also always prayed to God, the Divine, my family members that are deceased. Does prayer work? Yes I believe it does.

Many people get hung up on praying to one deity. They must have an image to hold in their mind to who they are praying. Whatever works for you – Do It! Believe It! and feel the passion of it.

My latest quest for knowledge has lead me to a concept called Ho’oponopono. Truly I believe this method of prayer has worked best for me. Ho’oponopono is the Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness, We all have our highs and lows in life and I am by all means not at my lowest point, but I am having some doubts and challenges that in the last few months seem to be alleviated by my use of these simple words. I am sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you.

Repentance, reparation, gratitude and affirmation wrapped up concisely in just eleven words. Words repeated as much as possible. Sometimes with a focus on a particular issue, sometimes just a general mantra to the universe.

If you would like to learn more about Ho’oponopono I suggest the book Zero Limits by Joe Vitale and Ihaleakala Hew Len. I listened to the audio book and must give the caveat that Joe can be a bit repetitive and likes promoting his other work through out. But if you can get past that, there is a wealth of knowledge in this and other books by Joe.

Thank you and I love you!

What’s in a name?

So when you decide to start blogging, you want a creative name. You go out on the web and start looking at other names. You start searching for available names. Do you know how hard that is? Some people are creative with puns. Some people have a well defined interest, purpose or goal. Well not me. I am interested in everything. I like a little knowledge about a broad base of subjects. No specialization for me. (I get bored too quick). Do I have goals? Well of course I do. I’d be silly if I didn’t. It’s just they are usually changing as my interests change. I do have one goal that hasn’t changed and probably will not. It’s just on hold for practical matters. I’ll save that tidbit for a later post, since it looks like I have already gone off the main topic. What’s in a name? I chose Pivotmoon for a couple of reasons. One, I am always on a pivot, I am rooted in one location, but I’m constantly changing my aspect, view or interest. Two, I have always had an affinity for the moon. So much of our lives are based on the cycles of the moon and affects our gravity our moods. And like a pivot it is always changing it’s aspect. So that is what is in my blog name!
